A rare case report on GIANT CELL TUMOUR OF TENDON SHEATH of FLEXOR HALLUCIS LONGUS tendon foot.

Abstract


Giant cell tumour of tendon sheath are usually painless masses that have been present for a long time . The duration of symptoms ranges from week to long years. These tumours usually causes no symptoms except for occasional distal numbness, mild disability may result from impaired functioning of the affected tendon secondary to the size of lesion. GCT-TS is a rare solitary benign soft tissue tumour which may arise in the tendon sheath tissue of hand and wrist as well as ankle and foot. Most cases occur in the hand where local recurrence after excision has been reported 40 of cases. 3 to 10 cases occurs in foot specially tendon attached to great toe. Most patients are young around age 20 to 30. In this article we presented a case of GCT of flexor hallucis longus tendon sheath right foot which was painful and interfering with normal walk of the patient.
