CROSSED TESTICULAR ECTOPIA

Abstract


Ectopic testis is a rare condition , it commonly presents in superficial inguinal pouch, but ectopic testis may be found in very unusual sites. A 35 yrs old male patient  admitted for left inguinal hernia of 2 months duration. On examination right cord was thin and left cord was thick with two normal testes within the scrotum . Intraoperatively he had left indirect hernia with two cord structures , two testes with Mullerian remnants . On exploration on right inguinal canal no cord structures were found . Trans-septal orchidopexy was done . Review of           literature showed it to be very rare form of ectopic testis called Crossed Testicular Ectopia and only 148 cases have been reported worldwide .
