Juvenile Psammomatoid Ossifying Fibroma- A Rare Case Report

SENGOTTUVELU P

Abstract

Juvenile Psammamatoid Ossifying Fibroma is a rare fibro-osseous neoplasm that arises within the craniofacial bones in individuals under mean age of 20 years. They are differentiated from the adult variant of ossifying fibromas on the basis of site, age, clinical behaviour and microscopic  appearance. The psammomatous type of juvenile ossifying fibroma (PJOF) mainly involves the bones of the orbit and paranasal sinuses. It is known for its tendency to recur and mimic a malignant bone tumor. We are presenting a case of PJOF of fronto-ethmoidal region in a 45-years-old male, with a huge mass abutting the frontal lobe which we operated endoscopically and ensured complete

removal.
