TONGUE METASTASIS IN A CASE OF CARCINOMA BREAST

NITIN MEDAYIL

Abstract

Tongue metastasis from cases of breast  carcinoma are very rare. Only a few anecdotal cases have been reported. Here, I am describing the case of a 49          year- old female patient, who had a metastatic lesion on her tongue, secondary to a primary breast carcinoma. Metastases from primary breast cancer to the tongue are rare even in widespread disease, constituting less than 1percent of all malignant neoplasms in the tongue region. Metastatic breast carcinoma to the head and neck region has been described, but very less cases of breast carcinoma metastasizing to the base of the tongue have been reported.
