AN UNUSUAL PRESENTATION OF INVASIVE MOLE
Abstract
Gestational trophoblastic disease encompasses a broad spectrum of conditions that include hydatidiform mole, invasive mole and choriocarcinoma. The incidence of hydatitiform mole in india is 1 in 1000. The occurrence of hydatidiform mole is related to few risk factors such as smoking, increased maternal or paternal age and previous history of abortions. Although a combination of ultrasonography and beta HCG is enough for initial diagnosis, plain radiography, angiography, CT and MRI all play a role in determining the presence of molar pregnancy and its complications. Here we report a case of 27 yrs female, tubal reanastomosis done 1 yr back who had come with persistent elevation of beta HCG and no evidence of intra or extra uterine gestational sac and diagnosed to be invasive mole later.
