A RARE CASE REPORT ON MISPLACED IUCD PRESENTING AS PERFORATING THE RECTUM

Abstract


Intrauterine contraceptive devices are among the most effective forms of contraception available. They are associated with few side effects like menorrhagia, pain and expulsion , perforation being the most significant as it needs surgical procedure for its removal. 27yrs, P2L2A1, was admitted for menorrhagia evaluation .USG abdomen with pelvis showed 2 IUCD ,one in utero and other in left adnexa. Copper T which was in normal position was removed . The other was found buried within intramural part of rectum and was removed by laparotomy.
