A case report of lipemia retinalis

Tejaswi Prasad D V .

Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is a well known risk factor leading to premature atherosclerosis of blood vessels. Lipemia           retinalis is an unusual retinal manifestation of hyperlipidemia and is presumed to be directly correlated with the serum triglyceride level. We report a case of a three month old child who presented with lipemia retinalis and eventually diagnosed with familial hypertriglyceridemia.
